MRU Cougars Game Changers Skill Development Sessions

January 9 - March 27, 2019

Want to become a game changer on the pitch? Want to get extra touches with a priority on technique-focused training?

Join the MRU Cougars soccer team who will be holding individual and group training sessions for players committed to developing their skills.

This weekly skill development workshop will focus on agility, technique, and movement patterns. This workshop will be run by MRU Cougars Men's Soccer coach Ryan Gyaki, as well as MRU assistant coaches and Cougars athletes.

This skill development program will be offered Wednesdays at Mount Royal University and Thursdays at Calgary Southwest United Soccer from 6:15-7:45am. Players are encouraged to attend both sessions, but are not obligated to do so.

Goalkeepers are also welcome as this is a great avenue to work on their technique and passing skills for the modern game. During shooting sessions, high repetition with many shot-saving opportunities will be provided.

Athletes will be broken up into groups based on age and skill level.

Annual Winter MRU Talent Identification Camps

February 2-3, 2019

Mount Royal University Cougars Men’s Soccer is hosting our third Annual Winter Identification Camp. The MRU ID camp is for male soccer players born in 2003 or above who are looking to attend post-secondary and compete in U SPORTS, the top university league in Canada. The ID camp is an excellent opportunity to showcase your talent and skills and earn a scholarship.

Attending will also give prospective student-athletes the opportunity to meet current team members, learn about their experiences, the benefits of being a Cougar, the pressures of playing at the top level and being a student-athlete at MRU. In addition to meeting the players, and testing and training, there will be an information session and a tour of the campus.

Each player will receive an individual physical test report as part of their camp fees, which highlights areas you can improve on and gives you a unique position-specific comparison to U SPORTS athletes.
